Overview
Artifact Relay is a private artifact delivery service for AI agents. It converts long output from agents into readable Markdown or standalone HTML documents, stored in a private library that can be hosted or self-hosted. The service separates publishing and reading credentials: a bearer token publishes artifacts, while a separate password unlocks the private viewer.
The product provides a durable reading surface for results that would otherwise disappear into chat history. Artifacts expire automatically unless pinned and can be deleted immediately. Optional sharing creates an expiring, revocable link for a single rendered artifact, and sharing is disabled by default in the localhost setup. Security measures include sanitized Markdown, sandboxed HTML rendering in an opaque-origin iframe, and bundled dependencies with no CDN execution path.
Artifact Relay can be used as a managed service or self-hosted. The managed beta is free during beta with a planned price of $24/year, providing an isolated instance with HTTPS, upgrades, backups, monitoring, and recovery. Self-hosting uses Docker Compose, starting on localhost with loopback binding and sharing off by default, or on a Linux VPS with Caddy TLS, secure cookies, and the app port on loopback. A Hermes agent plugin is available to install and configure the service.
