Overview
HermeTeam is an authority layer that sits between AI coding agents and GitHub. It allows coding agents to have GitHub access without giving them GitHub credentials. The system evaluates each action based on identity, resource, action, and authority, and then either allows it automatically, requires human approval, or blocks it.
It is designed for small software teams (3–30 developers) and agencies that use coding agents daily and want to grant them write/action authority without building an internal AI-security platform. HermeTeam provides scoped GitHub authority through a server-side token broker, ensuring that reusable credentials stay out of the managed agent runtime. It also offers an Authority Audit to discover what agents can actually see, call, and change, and Safe Agent Mode to enforce exact authority for consequential GitHub actions. The product is GitHub-first and does not replace the coding agent, Git provider, or CI/CD system.
