Overview
Panoma is a local catalog and front door for projects on a user's disk. It opens all projects and indicates which one was recently used, which one is broken, and which one has never been pushed. It is started with a command such as npx panoma up ~/Desktop or npx panoma up ~, and the catalog appears in the browser. The scan reads folders and git history already on the disk, with nothing installed and nothing uploaded.
Panoma provides project memory that updates live and is read by agents. It supports agent context files including AGENTS.md, CLAUDE.md, GEMINI.md, and copilot-instructions.md, and keeps what they read true. It can flag stale instructions, keep stack, commands, advisories, and open tasks current, and record which agent changed the rules. With several agents, it acts as shared memory for claimed work locks and approved facts.
Panoma is local by design. It has no server, no account, and keeps what it learns in a file inside the home folder. The scan never touches the network. If a model is connected, Panoma uses the user's key and sends the selected project's README and commit subjects to the chosen provider. Panoma is free software under AGPL-3.0.
