Overview
Forgeo is a scheduled software factory for a repository. It organizes work into a factory with a simple backlog of tasks, decides what to work on next, runs a coding agent, and commits the result. It is designed to operate without branches or pull requests, tracking progress, decisions, and history in plain files and a web dashboard. The workflow starts with tasks written in a plain JSON backlog or typed into the web console, one task at a time in the order written. Each cycle, Forgeo hands the oldest task to the configured coding agent, then commits and pushes the result straight to main. When the backlog is empty, the same agent reviews the codebase and cleans it up, and Forgeo only interrupts when a decision is genuinely the user's. Forgeo serves a live web dashboard while it works, showing every cycle, outcome, log line, and blocker, plus the tail of each run's agent output in the History tab. It is agent-agnostic and works with Claude Code, Codex, opencode, or any CLI agent that can read an environment variable. It retries transient failures automatically with backoff, and if the agent hits a decision only a human can make, it writes BLOCKER.md, pauses, and waits. Optional Telegram notifications can alert the user when input is needed.

Use Cases
- Teams use Forgeo to turn a plain JSON backlog into shipped commits by having an agent implement the oldest task.
- Teams use Forgeo to run coding agents without branches or pull requests, committing one task at a time to main.
- Teams use Forgeo to keep a repository tidy when the backlog is empty by having the agent refactor dead code, duplication, and stale comments.
- Teams use Forgeo to monitor multiple factory instances from a single web dashboard.
- Teams use Forgeo to avoid blocking on flaky tests or network blips via automatic retries with backoff.
- Teams use Forgeo to pause and wait for human input when the agent hits a decision only a human can make.
- Teams use Forgeo to receive optional Telegram notifications when input is needed.
- Teams use Forgeo to work with different CLI coding agents such as Claude Code, Codex, or opencode.
