Overview
Elsewhere is a browser for an internet that does not exist yet. A user types any domain; if the address already exists in the world, the browser returns the stored page byte for byte, and if nothing is there, a model writes the site and the address becomes that site. It is presented as a browser with tabs, history, back and forward controls, and an address bar, rather than a chat window that renders HTML.
Generated sites persist. A generated site is committed to SQLite as a versioned record containing HTML, images, outbound links, and everything the page asserted about the world. Revisiting a page later returns the same page, and following a link it invented writes that page too in the same voice. Every page proposes facts that land in a knowledge graph with provenance; contradictory statements are kept and conflicts recorded rather than resolved in favor of the last writer. Images are permanent world objects, so later sites showing a person show the same face.
In a shared world, anybody may edit any page, one page per person per week, and every edit is a new version beside the old one. The graph is clustered and drawn as districts. The application is native Rust with no Electron, Node, or bundler; the chrome is drawn with egui and generated pages are rendered by the system WebKit. It includes 574 offline tests against a deterministic mock provider and is MIT licensed.
