常見問題
Will tapping my MacBook damage it?
No. QuickTap reads motion rather than impact, so a gentle finger tap is enough, and sensitivity is tuned so the lightest tap registers.
Does it work on Intel Macs?
Yes. It works on any Mac running macOS Sonoma 14 or later, whether Intel or Apple Silicon.
When is the Windows version?
It is being built using the same approach of reading the laptop's motion sensor and mapping taps to actions; no date has been announced yet.
Does QuickTap send anything over the internet?
No. There are zero network calls, with no analytics, telemetry, or update pings; the app is offline-first.
What permissions does it need?
Two: Accessibility, so QuickTap can switch apps and windows, and a Login Item / Background helper needed to read the laptop's built-in motion sensor. macOS prompts for both on first launch, and it needs no microphone, internet access, or kernel extension.
I have several windows of the same app. Will tap switch between them?
QuickTap activates apps and macOS then brings forward the frontmost window on the current Space, so windows of the same app kept on one Space can be flipped between; windows spread across different Spaces will not be pulled across.
My desk wobbles. Will it tap by accident?
Sensitivity can be tuned down, and QuickTap adds a short dead-zone after each registered tap so the sensor does not double-fire on a single knock.
