Overview

UsageLoop is a scheduler for Codex accounts that have a five-hour usage window. It is a local-first desktop app for Windows and Linux, built from one shared core. The app can start the next Codex window with one small Codex request, which uses some of the user's subscription allowance. It does not add quota or bypass limits; it starts the normal next window earlier. Users can pick one time, separate weekday and weekend times, or a different time for every day of the week. It keeps windows rolling through the day, pauses overnight, and shows when the next one begins. Automation has three local schedule choices: Continuous, Once each day, and Weekly routine. No API key is needed, but Codex must already be installed and signed in through the ChatGPT desktop app in Codex mode or the Codex CLI. The computer must be awake and signed in, with UsageLoop running, for a scheduled start. The app is free and open source under the MIT license, and it never reads Codex credentials, prompts, responses, or conversations.
