Overview
Sudonotes is a local-first application for organizing prompts and ideas. It stores prompt drafts, model assignments, and idea notes in a local folder of plain Markdown files. The software is free, MIT licensed, and available for Windows, macOS, and Linux with a ~20 MB installer.
The tool allows users to assign specific models to prompts or individual bubbles within an idea, using a live catalog that includes context window, reasoning, and vision support. It can split a pasted multi-step prompt into ordered steps within a collection, each with its own model, tags, and file.
Sudonotes provides full-text search across notes, backlinks, and keyboard shortcuts. It supports linking ideas to project folders, mirroring them to IDEAS.md in repositories, and sending idea bubbles as GitHub issues.
The application is built with Tauri, uses plain Markdown files with YAML headers, and offers optional AI features that can be turned off per vault.
