Overview
FlowState Trading Journal is a lightweight offline Windows desktop journal for traders. It is designed for discretionary traders who want a clean local place to record trades, review decisions, and identify repeated behavioral patterns. The product is not a signal tool, trading bot, broker connector, tax tool, or financial advice product; it is built for trade review, structure, and self-discipline.
The journal can track open and closed trades, entry, exit, stop loss, target, and position size, R-multiple performance, planned R preview, net PnL when enough data is available, fees or commission, market type, trade setup, timeframe, emotion, HTF bias, plan followed, mistake tags, trade reason or thesis, notes, and screenshot or chart links. Core features include an offline Windows desktop app, no login required, no broker API required, no cloud sync, local AppData storage, manual trade logging, R-multiple calculation, review score, psychology tracking, mistake tag analysis, analytics dashboard, CSV import/export, backup and restore, position size calculator, and single-instance protection.
Open vs closed trade logic states that an exit closes a trade, while an empty exit with a stop or target is treated as an open trade; open trades are not counted as realised wins or losses. Net PnL is calculated only when enough information is available, such as quantity/position size or realised PnL, and may be left blank if exact Net PnL cannot be calculated. Closed-trade CSV files are the safest import format, and raw spot BUY/SELL fills may be matched when the file contains enough usable information.
