Overview
Darius is a terminal coding-agent harness that provides an OpenAI-compatible adapter, an explicit offline demo, permission prompts, SQLite memory, and a loopback web server. It is built and launched via Cargo, with commands such as `cargo build --release -p darius-cli` and `./target/release/darius --help`. An unconfigured launch shows setup guidance rather than simulated analysis. The tool supports configuration of a provider through commands like `darius config init --provider openai_compatible` and `darius run "summarize this repository"`. It also includes a TUI mode and a serve mode that binds to 127.0.0.1:7432 by default. The system enforces permissions: Auto mode runs read-only tools and asks before mutating tools or shell execution, while Plan mode denies those tool classes. It supports local MCP servers over stdio and SSE transports, with discovered tools registered under namespaced identifiers. Write operations on existing files generate unified diff previews in the TUI transcript. The project includes verification scripts and tests, and is licensed under MIT.
