Overview
AIWS is a standalone, production-ready Next.js web application that provides a visual control plane for the AIWS system. It communicates with the aiws daemon through a configurable HTTP/SSE API, as described in the architecture: "This frontend is designed to run as an independent web application that communicates with the aiws daemon through a configurable HTTP/SSE API". The application includes a workstation console, documentation portal, and showcase landing page.
The workstation console offers features such as overview of service health and resource usage, app runtime controls, live preview, project management, Git sync, GitHub App credential management, edge tunnel configuration, harness and DSH management, model key encryption, maintenance tasks, state backup, and real-time log streaming. For example, the overview provides "5-service health status, live CPU/RAM wave dynamics, memory allocation pie chart, SLA ring gauges, and throughput bar charts". The documentation portal provides "Interactive guides, architecture references, and security manuals powered by Fumadocs MDX".
Security is enforced via a cryptographic gate using the Web Crypto API, with HMAC-SHA256 signed sessions, timing-attack immune comparisons, brute-force rate limiting, and strict cookie flags. The public surface includes the landing page, documentation, FAQ, and contact page. The application can be deployed via Docker or as a Node.js standalone server, and it supports various backend connection scenarios including collocated, remote VPS via Cloudflare Tunnel, and local frontend to remote VPS.
