KnowBase AI is a multi-tenant SaaS application that allows businesses to create workspaces, upload documents, manage knowledge sources, and use an AI assistant to answer questions based on their business knowledge. It is described as an "AI-Powered Knowledge Base & Customer Support Platform" and is currently a "Feature-complete prototype" with all core features implemented and working. For public testing, authentication has been removed so all pages are freely accessible without login or signup. The platform includes knowledge management capabilities such as document upload, URL addition, manual entries, and automatic text chunking for AI retrieval. Its AI assistant provides RAG-powered chat with responses grounded in business knowledge, supports multiple providers including OpenAI, Google Gemini, and Anthropic Claude, and offers streaming responses, conversation history, and source citations. A demo mode allows fully functional operation without API keys by using mock responses. Dashboard and analytics features include an executive overview with KPI cards and usage charts, token usage tracking, recent activity feeds, and team management with roles and invitations. The application features a premium dark-mode UI with a blue-slate color palette, Plus Jakarta Sans typography, noise texture backgrounds, and glass morphism effects. It is built with Next.js 16, TypeScript, SQLite, Prisma 7, NextAuth.js v5, Tailwind CSS v4, and shadcn/ui.
