常見問題
What counts as a message sent for usage billing purposes?
A message sent is a single message delivered to a single user on a single channel. Only messages sent are charged, not workflows triggered; bounced or failed messages and guide views are not billable.
What happens if I go over the free plan limit and don't have a billing method in place?
Knock does not hard cap notifications. If you exceed the limit, they will contact you about setting up a billing method for the next month.
Do you offer volume discounts?
Yes, volume discounts are available only on the enterprise plan. You can contact them if interested.
How will I be charged and billed for my use of Knock?
There are no setup fees. At the end of the month, your credit card is automatically charged for that month's usage.
What is a channel?
In Knock, a channel is a single destination for notifications, such as a SendGrid account, a Slack channel, or an in-app channel for feeds or toasts.
When does billing of my Knock usage begin and end?
Billing starts when you upgrade to a paid plan. The upgrade day becomes your monthly billing cycle anchor. Usage overages are billed in arrears.
If I use Knock, do I still pay for downstream messaging services such as Postmark and Twilio?
Yes. Knock does not manage billing for downstream platform providers that deliver your notifications.
Does Knock sign BAAs for HIPAA-compliant customers?
Yes. Knock is HIPAA compliant and will sign BAAs for Enterprise plan customers.
How does pricing work for Knock guides?
Knock guides uses an active user pricing model, where an active user is a user that sees at least one guide in a month.
I'm already an Enterprise customer. Do I need to pay for guides separately?
If guides are not already included in your enterprise agreement, you have the same limit as the Starter plan: 2,500 active users per month. When exceeded, you can contact them to add guides to your agreement.
