Overview
U-King is an open-source AI installer and workspace for Windows and macOS. It addresses the initial setup challenges of AI CLI tools, such as Node, PATH, mirrors, configuration files, and model connectivity, by providing a desktop wizard that performs a health check, installs and configures tools, and runs real connectivity tests. The tool supports a range of AI CLIs including Claude Code, Codex CLI, Pi, OpenClaw, OpenCode, and Cline. It also includes a built-in PTY-based terminal and a multi-AI workbench for organizing sessions, tasks, and files by project. The installation logic is auditable via JSON skills, allowing new tools to be added without waiting for a desktop release. Privacy and security are emphasized: API keys remain in local tool configuration directories and are not uploaded, and remote assistance is off by default with a 2-hour auto-disconnect and local audit logs. The software is licensed under Apache-2.0, with optional paid API relay service available.
