TradeAgent is an AI agent that is safely wired to an ATAS trading account for users who do not use a terminal. ATAS remains the trading screen, while TradeAgent installs its own dependencies, hosts the AI conversation in its own window, runs the trading gateway, enforces safety rules, and owns the emergency stop. The user does not see a console or install prerequisites.

The design keeps broker credentials out of the agent's environment; ATAS owns broker authentication, the agent expresses intent, and the gateway executes it. A repeated request id cannot place a second order because every mutating request is written to disk before dispatch, keyed by a caller-supplied id. When an acknowledgement is lost, UNKNOWN does not mean failure: trading pauses, the gateway reconciles against the broker, and nothing is resubmitted automatically. Real money requires a deliberate human act, and stopping the AI is separate from liquidating a portfolio.

The software can place real orders in a real brokerage account and is provided as is, with no warranty and no financial advice. It trades through ATAS, with orders placed, read back, and cancelled on hardware, and LIVE_CONFIRM walked end to end, but every account it has touched was simulated, no broker has been attached, and fully automatic live trading is refused by design because ATAS cannot serve order history. The latest release is v0.1.0, a per-user installer with no administrator. It requires the .NET 10 SDK, and everything except the ATAS adapter and installer is cross-platform. It is under the PolyForm Noncommercial License 1.0.0 with additional permissions.
