Overview
The Advisor is a plugin that allows a cheaper workhorse model to consult a stronger advisor model before making hard-to-reverse decisions. It supports any model on either side, including Claude, Gemini, GPT, or a local model, with nothing hardcoded. The plugin is a multi-provider version of Claude Code's built-in /advisor, offering any advisor, a greppable JSON log, and compatibility with workhorses that aren't Claude Code. The command is /consult. It requires Python 3 and uses only the standard library. The advisor is stateless, seeing only what the workhorse sends, never the session. Users can route one-off questions to a different provider ad hoc with /second-opinion. The plugin includes commands like /consult, /second-opinion, /advisor-model, and /doctor. It can be used with various MCP clients, including Gemini CLI, and supports one-shot advice straight to stdout.
