Overview
Sys-Health is an interactive TUI diagnostic suite, deterministic system health auditor, guarded upgrade engine, and AI-assisted telemetry bridge for Arch Linux and Arch-based distributions. It is an independent, unofficial open-source community project designed to assist users in understanding, inspecting, and maintaining their systems safely. The tool addresses real-world rolling-release problems such as update anxiety, kernel and EFI mount desynchronization, silent kernel-bootloader drift, dependency breaks, and orphan package management hazards. It provides a read-only 10-second audit that answers whether a system is healthy, and a guarded upgrade engine that verifies ESP and /boot mount topology, multi-kernel DKMS builds, and bootloader entries before transactions. For AI-assisted workstations, sys-health --json executes local deterministic Bash probes in about 2 seconds and produces a tightly structured JSON summary of under 500 tokens, reducing token usage by over 95% compared to traditional AI CLI sessions. The tool supports multiple bootloaders (GRUB, systemd-boot, Limine, rEFInd, UKI), initramfs generators (dracut, mkinitcpio), GPU stacks (NVIDIA, AMD RADV, Intel Arc Xe), and session types (Wayland, X11).

Use Cases
- Teams use Sys-Health to perform a quick, read-only system health audit after updates or freezes.
- Teams use Sys-Health to verify ESP and /boot mount topology before system upgrades to prevent unbootable systems.
- Teams use Sys-Health to detect kernel-bootloader drift and receive remediation commands before rebooting.
- Teams use Sys-Health to safely manage orphan packages with a 3-tier safety classifier and pre-flight inspection.
- Teams use Sys-Health to prevent upgrades on critically low battery power to avoid corruption.
- Teams use Sys-Health to provide AI agents with structured system telemetry, reducing token usage and cost.
- Teams use Sys-Health to audit audio subsystem, DSP firmware, and WirePlumber stack for missing firmware.
- Teams use Sys-Health to diagnose network issues including gateway latency, NIC errors, and DNS leaks.
