Overview
Nova is a self-hosted personal AI assistant that runs entirely on local hardware with no cloud dependencies. It is designed to learn from user corrections by converting them into durable lessons and knowledge-graph facts that are retrieved on future queries, without retraining or modifying model weights. The system uses a memory loop that includes correction detection, lesson storage, temporal knowledge graph triples, and hybrid retrieval combining vector search and BM25 with reciprocal rank fusion. Nova also runs over 70 autonomous monitors across more than 35 domains, which perform deep research, synthesize cited briefings, and consolidate findings into living dossiers, forecasts, and a rolling State of the World. Chat serves as the interface for interrogating this accumulated knowledge. The project is implemented in async Python with FastAPI and httpx, and it does not use LangChain, LangGraph, or other agent frameworks.
