Nextpage – a split-pane desktop app to feed search results into AI chat

Nextpage is a cross-platform desktop application built with Electron that provides a split-pane interface for search and AI chat. It keeps a search engine open on one side and an AI chat provider on the other, allowing users to page through live search results and manually feed selected URLs, titles, and snippets into the chat. The model does not choose the sources; the user does. Clicking a result appends it to the chat input and cancels navigation, so the user stays on the results list. The app supports Google, Bing, or Yandex for search, and DeepSeek, ChatGPT, or Perplexity for AI chat. It includes toolbar controls for pasting the current query, appending all results from the current page, flipping panes, and selecting the language of injected text. Redirect URLs from search engines are resolved to real page URLs before insertion. The app is not a new model, a hosted search API, or a browser extension; it is a desktop window with two real webviews. Limitations include dependency on the DOM of search and chat pages, which may break when those pages change, and the same logins, CAPTCHAs, and rate limits as a normal browser. Google login does not function within the app because Google has blocked OAuth requests from embedded browsers since 2021, but workarounds include logging in with email and password or copying session cookies from a regular Chrome browser.
