Overview
Linux Autopilot Agent is a terminal-based AI assistant that helps users administer, debug, and automate a Linux system (including Raspberry Pi) using natural language. It connects to OpenRouter to access a wide range of LLMs and executes shell commands on the user's behalf. The agent uses a structured JSON protocol between the model and the shell, avoiding fragile parsing of bash code blocks. Every command is classified by a local, model-independent risk engine before execution. The LLM proposes commands, but the local engine decides whether they are safe. The agent requires Linux (or any Unix-like system with /bin/bash), Python 3.8+, and an OpenRouter API key. It has zero external Python dependencies, using only the standard library. The agent supports interactive and one-shot modes, streaming responses, persistent history, and multi-model support. It includes a safety model with risk levels (SAFE, CAUTION, DANGEROUS) and secret redaction. The project is licensed under the MIT License.
