Overview

Krowoc is an open-source AI coworker that runs in the cloud. It provides a shell, files, browsing, and connected apps, operating 24/7 in its own cloud machine. The agent can be accessed from any browser, and it is designed to outlive the browser tab. It runs in an isolated micro-VM per user, ensuring that keys and connectors never share a machine with anyone else’s.

The product supports bring-your-own-key for various AI providers, including Anthropic, OpenAI, Fireworks, and OpenRouter, with keys stored on the user's private machine. It connects to apps such as Gmail, Notion, Slack, and calendars via MCP connectors, with per-connector permissions controlled by the user. It also supports any OpenAI-compatible endpoint, including local Ollama.

Krowoc has a genuine shell, filesystem, and browser automation. It can write files, run code, and browse the web, showing every step. It includes scheduled triggers that fire while the user sleeps, and long tasks keep going even when the laptop is closed. The agent is Apache-licensed and self-hostable, allowing users to run it on their own infrastructure.

The platform routes to whatever intelligence the user prefers, and costs stay with the user. It supports open models via Fireworks or OpenRouter, Claude via the Claude Agent SDK on an Anthropic API key, and any OpenAI-compatible endpoint. Users can switch models anytime without token markups.
