Overview
Husk is a tool that gives AI chats access to a computer environment, including a terminal, files, and a browser, along with persistent workspaces. It allows users to save public web sources, ask the AI for cited briefs, comparisons, or action lists, and then review and download the results. Workspaces can be reopened in subsequent chats, and no Husk account, Docker, terminal, or additional model API key is required for the starter flow. For coding and automation, Husk provides optional computer tools such as a shell, files, and a browser, and existing MCP and CLI workflows remain available. The product is currently in public preview (version 0.2.0) and is distributed as an unsigned desktop extension for Claude Desktop. It also offers a CLI for guided setup and management of computer environments, and supports importing chat transcripts to create reusable agent specifications. Husk includes multiple computer providers (docker, podman, ssh, fly, local) and model providers (Ollama, Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, Groq, DeepSeek, Cerebras, OpenRouter, Mistral, Together, LM Studio), and it has no product telemetry. The security model includes command deny lists, environment scrubbing, output caps, and process-tree kill, but the local provider is not a sandbox and shares the host kernel, network, and user account.
