Overview
hobot is a job-hunting agent that runs in the background and is driven from Discord and/or a terminal UI. It finds postings, scores them against a user's profile, writes cover letters, optionally watches an inbox and drafts replies, and can find company contacts. It runs on a local LLM (Ollama) by default, with a cloud key as an alternative. It continuously finds postings via JobSpy and scraping, scores each against the profile, and writes a cover letter in PDF for the best matches automatically. It also checks whether postings are still live and flags likely ghost jobs and unreadable generated PDFs. The agent never sends email without confirmation; drafts remain files or pending actions until a human clicks send. It can be used through Discord slash commands or a terminal UI, both reading and writing the same database.
