Overview

DevOS is a keyboard-driven developer operating center for Windows. It combines a terminal, Git, an AI assistant with real tools, and ten more modules behind one command palette. It is built on Tauri v2 (Rust + React 19). The project is at v0.1.0, Windows-only, and built by one person for one person; it is not supported software, and several modules are deliberately a thin slice of the tool they resemble.

The AI assistant can read files, search code, and run commands under a two-tier grant: reads are allowed once, while anything that writes or executes asks every time. Users bring their own key for Claude, Gemini, or a local Ollama model. The terminal runs ConPTY sessions in the Rust process that survive route changes; a non-zero exit raises a notification and offers the failure to the AI in one keystroke.

Data is stored in one SQLite database per install, with rotating backups and a screenshots directory beside it. Nothing is uploaded anywhere; the only outbound traffic is to the provider or service a feature is explicitly talking to. DevOS proxies nothing, has no account, and sends no telemetry.
