CadanADE

CadanADE is a local, agent-first coding IDE built as a SvelteKit workspace. It provides a file tree, CodeMirror editing, OpenRouter agent chat, themes, and an optional Electron desktop shell. The project is described as "the first consumer and living demo of @scifiui/core (sibling package)."

The IDE supports opening a local folder as a workspace, with recent and discovered projects. It includes file tree, tabs, and CodeMirror 6 editing with save and minimap. Agent edit review is available with green/red highlights and Accept/Reject actions per file, plus Accept all/Reject all in chat. Local history is maintained via a shadow git under .cadan/history.git on save and Accept, which does not touch the project .git. Streaming agent chat uses OpenRouter with tool calls and approval gates. A settings console allows configuration of provider key, themes, and performance lite mode. An optional Electron app wraps the same SvelteKit server.

The agent cannot mark its own work done. When a request carries a spec, Cadan derives a requirements ledger from it before starting work, writing it to .cadan/REQUIREMENTS.md and re-injecting it at the start of every turn. Each line ends in a verdict the harness writes, never the model: PASS, FAIL, DEVIATION, or UNVERIFIED. Generic checks include verifying named libraries are imported and called, banned dependencies are absent, named deliverables exist and are non-empty, numeric limits are compared against attached output, evidence quotes must appear in real tool output, files are scanned for stubs, command output is screened for plausibility, and narrowed runs are labelled. A text reply is treated as a claim, not evidence; while lines are unverified the completion gate refuses the claim and hands the agent the failing lines (up to 4 retries), then the turn ends with an explicit FAIL report. The report is generated from the ledger and shown under the chat.
