Overview

Atelier CMS by AIncient Labs is an AI-first, chat-driven site builder built on Drupal. It lets users build and brand a website by talking to an agent in a console, with every change rendered live and published only after approval. The product is self-hosted and open source, and it keeps content, server, and provider keys under the user's control.

Underneath, Atelier is a full CMS: Drupal core, content as real nodes, and config as code, with a modern chat console layered on top. Users describe what they want, and the agent assembles pages from a curated component library on their brand. The agent works on an unsaved draft and shows a live preview; the live site changes only when the user presses Publish.

Atelier can export a site as plain static HTML for deployment anywhere, and it supports translation, SEO, media, menus, email, and other CMS capabilities through conversation. It is free and open source under GPL-2.0-or-later, and it is designed so the database sits on the user's own disk and the export is just files.
