Overview
agente is an AI receptionist that runs on the business owner's Android phone. It reads messages the phone already receives from WhatsApp, WhatsApp Business, Instagram, Messenger, Telegram, and SMS through Android notifications, then replies as the business by quoting prices, scheduling appointments, taking orders, and confirming payments. The phone acts as the server, with no platform APIs, scraping, or third-party server storing conversations.
The app uses Android notification access as its only chat integration. It reads an incoming notification and responds through that notification's inline reply action, the same reply button the owner would use. There are no Meta APIs, mirror sessions, or UI automation. The core is a Rust library running inside the app process; it stores conversations, appointments, payments, and learned data in filesDir/agente.db and exposes a small HTTP API on 127.0.0.1.
The product includes 24/7 attention, payment confirmation from bank or wallet notifications, a business panel, credit-based billing, selectable chat apps and wallets, verifiable audit chains, and AI disclosure. Current limitations include a private core source, the language model call leaving the phone, dependence on notification access, support only for chat apps with inline reply, and no WhatsApp on emulator.
